Honeywell

NDA Disclaimer
During my summer internship, I had the privilege of joining the Honeywell Forge team as a UX Design intern, where I was under the tutelage of two head designers. Despite the challenges posed by COVID, we were able to forge ahead and have some fun while at it!
Although I cannot delve into the specifics of my work, I was involved in diverse tasks, such as:
1. Exploring the usage of knowledge graphs to visualize complex data and transforming it into a user-friendly interface to enhance control and performance.
2. I also conducted research on knowledge graph-based applications, providing viable solutions for optimal data visualization and editing, which allowed for successful integration with the existing system.
3. As part of my internship, I crafted UI design prototypes that were customized for three different industrial use cases, resulting in over 30 low and high fidelity interface designs that covered more than 10 pages.
I really loved and cherished my time at Honeywell, and also am grateful for my supervisors, who were incredibly patient, taught me a lot about work, life, and lastly, new music!
My Learnings
This was my first time working with a brand that was widely loved and used by such a massive set of people.
Collaborating closely with the PMs and Design folks at Honeywell allowed us to take a data-driven approach to some design decisions.
I also learnt a lot about dealing with a legacy product, untangling competing priorities for features, and designing a design system which works across a multitude of content categories.I became great at explaining ideas at the correct level of complexity and abstraction, and improved my overall communication skills.
Working in projects with constraints also made me adept at making the most of the resources I have available. I also learned how to advocate for my design in large organizational structures.
